Convert cbz/cbr - epub full screen?

Is there a way to convert cbz/cbr to epub to show up in full screen?

Every time when I do the conversion, the images have shrunk with the header and page number showing up in my Kobo Aura HD.

I also need to get rid of the header and page numbers so the comic images show up full screen.

Are you sure you want to convert them? The Kobo devices handle CBR/CBZ with not problems. From memory, they don't have a heading or footer. Plus you can zoom and rotate the images.

For the conversion, what do you have for the output device? I recommend using "Tablet" as that does the conversion without resizing the images. The Kobo devices will handle this.

As to the heading and footer, strictly you can't get rid of them. But, recent firmware have an hidden option. Adding "FullScreenReading=true" into the "FeatureSettings" section of the config file will add an extra option to the reading setting. This is "Show header and footer". Unchecking that will remove the heading and footing when reading epubs and kepubs.

If you edit the config file, make sure you use a text editor that understands Unix style line ends. Notepad does not. I usually use Notepad++.

Kepub books support the option to double tap to zoom in on the image.

For CBZ its a two step process - you have to bring up the menu and then use the sliders to zoom in and out.

It's a matter of convenience.

Yes, the image viewer in a kepub is good. The options I mention are be valid for both kepubs and epubs.

Sorry, I am not clear which config file you are referring to.

We're talking about the Kobo eReader.conf file, located in the .kobo\Kobo directory on your device, and accessible when the device is attached via USB to your PC.

Thanks that helped.

But when I convert the CBR to an epub under calibre, the images are not full sized on the screen.

Is there an option to set the images to show up full screen during the epub conversion under Calibre?
