That's a truly excellent deal - and tempting - but I'm making myself resist. I bought the audio for the series in an Audible deal this year I haven't listened to yet, and own the series in paperback.

Not sure who 'they' is. Pauline is listed right next to Lewis on the Amazon page: by C. S. Lewis (Author), Pauline Baynes (Illustrator) so it's not like they are hiding it.

Yes, those are the ones I have. They're in pretty rough shape unfortunately.

"They" is Amazon. From their blurb for the book on its page...

This collection contains all seven books in the classic fantasy series The Chronicles of Narnia without art, to appeal to older readers....

I wonder why they are still used. She simply couldn't draw (especially horses and other animals).

I always liked her illustrations. I had the impression that many were supposed to be in the style of Middle Age art. So they weren't supposed to be completely realistic. I thought they were about perfect for Farmer Giles of Ham.

Found UK listing. It might not be exactly the same edition But it's over £16 in VAT to Ireland. Ireland has 0% on paper books, but standard VAT on eBooks.

I did buy the Earthsea Omnibus from the UK Amazon for only £9.45 inc Irish VAT. Still at that price as I write.

Pauline Bayes' illustrations are in the box set I bought in 1965. I still have the box and only 2 of the books have got lost and replaced (one was lost in 1979 approx.).

I've only $3 on my USA Kindle account; it has no payment method! So essentially I'd have to spend $10 to give that account a gift card. I have three paper sets now, so hardly worth it.

I love those covers too. And I believe my box set is somewhere in our garage, but if you saw our garage, you'd know I'm not going to see it again anytime soon...
