New authors at L.A. Festival of Books!!

Astak’s EZread.com At Festival of Books!!

Imagine the excitement of three eBook Fanatics turned loose at a huge Book Show!! From April 23-25, Astak’s TEAM of three (Bob, Jenifer, and Ruby) got turned loose at the L.A. Times Festival of Books at the UCLA campus in Los Angeles. There were about 400 exhibitors in tents, a crowd of 130,000 book lovers, hundreds of authors, and a festive mood!

Astak found some of the most amazing ideas being born. One family had their two teenage sons doing book signings for their books on safaris all over the globe… positively intriguing! Books from every faith were being sold. Mysteries, science fiction, and thrillers were everywhere. The L.A. Lakers were featured in fan books. Manga, comics, and books on politics and science were everywhere.

What Astak found was a thirst to move into digital books! Every author and publisher there knew it was coming… and most were just dying to find an easy way to join the eBook ranks. We found all manner of Independent Authors and Publishers just hoping for a chance to get their books up on an eBook Store! Astak and EZread.com were a ready solution and drew a lot of interest with whoever we approached. There were a few bookstores who hated eBooks as they know they make more money selling Hardcovers… but most embraced the chance to sell to a wider audience and really get noticed! Maybe they make less per title BUT they enormously increase the titles sold… increasing total revenue a hundred-fold.

We talked with numerous authors that want to be interviewed by EZread.com! Part of what we want to do is not just sell eBooks but really open up the world of lesser-known authors to the public at large. Many of these fine authors write wonderfully and have something to say and to be heard. So, Astak is becoming a pro-active eBook Store where you can explore what the authors have to say before you purchase their eBooks. AND… of course this will swell the number of titles on EZread.com while bringing you more variety. In a way, part of our job is to serve as “PRESS”… bringing you the latest and greatest. We LOVE our jobs!!
