I've had friends with multiple alarm clocks and they still had to have a friend call them on the phone each morning to be sure.

Me? I wake up at the drop of a pin. The RPMs in my head jump immediately. "What projects do I have to do today?" Sometimes I wish that it was not so.

I have four alarms set on my phone, which start ganging up in frequency as the 9-min snoozes start to put them all near in time. I still manage to snooze them all. I've added two physical alarms which are 2 and 3 feet away, but I'm learning how they snooze too.

Note, I'm retired now, so it doesn't matter, but it is starting to get awkward that I get up at 11:00 am and breakfast (brunch) starts at 1:00pm. My body would really prefer a day to be 26 hours long. I never want to stop reading at night, and I never want to stop sleeping in the morning.

I'm bad. I find it hard to keep my eyes open after 8 PM. And it's a struggle to stay in bed until at least 4 AM.

While restart was happening I retrieved a spare keyboard from my 'junk box'. On returning I was surprised to find I didn't need it, not sure what prompted me to try a restart.

It could be that something got corrupted and to fix it the system it needed a reboot. I know in a Windows system it often takes a reboot to get things working correctly, such as during the process of installing programs, since there are many configuration files that are only read when the computer boots up.

I had something happen with my old flip phone. Suddenly, it started acting strangely and had trouble doing many normal things. Then I figured out that I had been using it for years without ever shutting it down. Shutting it down, and then restarting it fixed the problem.

Another possibility is that the controller in the keyboard went chasing after stray electrons and the power cycle forced it back to normal operation.

Does EVERY network have to have a plus network? grrr.

Increasingly, I find that the show or event I want to watch is on the plus version of the network. For example, a lot of the volleyball games that my (former) university is involved in are broadcast on the B1G+ instead of regular B1G. All the plus networks I have noticed require a separate subscription instead of normal overall subscription. (I'm currently using one of the Sling programs). a year or two ago, they were on the univeristy's own stream, available free over the net. And yet, the B1g network as time to rebroadcast years old football games.

grumble.
