Nook skips page after startup

Hi there,

I have a following problem with my nook: I turn it on and start reading the page that I previously finished reading, then I go the next screen but nook skips it and goes one page further. Then, I go one screen back - getting me to the screen I started reading (so skipping again), after that I go again one screen forward and this time it is ok, nook doesn't skip the screen. This only happens right after I turn my nook on and start reading, very often but not every time!. I checked it with several epub books, there was this problem with all of them.

I recently updated my nook to 1.4.0, previously with 1.3.0 I didn't have this problem. Anyone experiencing such thing?

This is a know problem of the current 1.4.0 firmware.
You only need to turn the Nook off if you are not using it for a week or longer.
Otherwise just let it go to sleep. That way it will start-up immediately, and you do not have this problem.

That's some solution, thx, but doesn't it strongly shorten the period between recharges? I would rather not charging it every day...

The e-ink screen only uses power when changing the screen. In sleep mode only the Nook electronics use power, not the screen.
If you read a lot you probably will have to charge to Nook every 5 or 6 days.
Just try it for a while.
