run calibre in debug mode and post the log (right click the preferences button to start in debug mode)

I have the new Kindle 2018 and find it's not being recognised by Calibre. I have reinstalled Calibre 3.34.0 (1 plug in updates)). The OS recognises the Kindle and my previous paperwhite is recognised fine.

The windows popup showing the various directories appeared the moment I plugged the new kindle in. If I remove the new Kindle and plug in the old paperwhite then my old kindle shows fine. The new Kindle does show the "USB drive mode" screen when plugged in and the charging light is showing green. The new Kindle has worked once when I transferred a few books across but it won't work now. I'm on Win 10.

Ironic, but it is probably, that you are always looking for BIG problems.
IMHO Nothing beats a second set of eyeballs on a issue . It is not a problem as long as it gets fixed BEFORE the customer gets the system (I do lots of Rack and Stack)
