Is it possible to add custom buttons to the mail toolbar?
I have two custom templates to save books and would like a button on the toolbar. Now every time I have to change templates I have to do: Preferences Saving books to disk change template Apply Close I am hoping for a quicker method Thanx |

As you've by now discovered, the Quick Preferences plugin won't allow you to change Save to Disk templates.
Do you need to export certain books with one template and other books with a different template? If so, you might be able to use the Switch function in your Save to Disk template to choose between two different sub-templates based upon fields in the database. For example, you could set up your template to export Epub books with one sub-template and PDF books with a different sub-template. Take a look at this thread for more info. I use it to set up different templates for my different libraries, but the concept should be the same for working with books in a single library. |

I remember that...
Post the criteria you need to select for, here or in the templates thread, and we can help you figure out the appropriate template. |

I use a bit more complicated one to do similar and avoid some pitfalls with the way you handle series:
Code:
program:test(field('series'),strcat( substr(field('series'), 0, 1),template("-series/{series:subitems(0,1)||/}{series:subitems(1,2)||/}{series_index:0>5.2f}-{title}_{authors}_{id}") ),template("00noseries/{author_sort[0]}_authors/{author_sort}/{title}-{authors}_{id}") ) 00Noseries for all non series books. The 00 rises to the top in a Alpha sort Since I keep most of my Library on the device (SDCARD): I create a Alphabetical layer of folders and distribute that way 00NoSeries: A_Authors B_Authors ... (Series): A_series B_series Series is also Hierarchical so there can ALSO be sub folders: Pern/Dragonriders Pern/Harperhall (Pern) With series... {Author} is LAST as you may have a series with more than 1 Author contributing, THE SERIES belongs together: series index-title Author, this way books are in alpha order I also use ##.## for fine layer of series indexing |

This is fairly easy to configure. Or do you mean you want to save the same book sometimes with its series info and sometimes without? This is much more difficult, if it's possible at all. |

Your templates appear to be more or less identical. If you simply want to avoid the extra " - " floating around when there is no series, use
Code:
{series:| - |} Code:
- {series} Last edited by eschwartz; 04-23-2014 at 11:01 PM. |

Avoiding the extra "-" is just what I am looking for.
That is indeed the best solution, Thanx! Last edited by imans314; 04-28-2014 at 08:36 AM. |
