Cunningham's Book of Shadows: The Path of An American Traditionalist ($9.99 Kindle), by Scott Cunningham, is currently free in the Sony store.

It says it's free, but when you add it to your cart it tries to charge $12 and change.

It didn't last long, but was working earlier. I don't know if they'll fix the product page or fix it being free in the cart, but I suspect the former.

Yet another company that uses one database to display prices (for web and app) and a second to charge you. B&N does the same (but doesn't use a cart or confirm the price went up if you one-click on a displayed book that shows as free).

The boyfriend bought me a GC for xmas and I still have some money left. I sent them an email asking them to fix the price; if it's free make it free, if not than put a price on it from the get go. They sent me an email back saying that the reason it looked free was b/c I had some $ left from my GC and to be more careful when shopping the next time. I was kind of miffed, that they couldn't admit they had made a mistake...sux that book wasn't free!

Gift cards don't affect the price shown on the website (maybe in the software, where you are logged in, but that wasn't the case here). They made a mistake, then caught it, but fixed one database (checkout/cart) before the other (display).
