How to resize pdf?

I'm using a smartdevices SmartQ7 for reading pdf files, but there are some problems with it. The biggest one, right now, is that the pdf reader crash (i.e. it just close itself) after a bit of reading pdf files with several images inside (i.e. magazines).
One of the magazine I'm subscribed to gives readers pdf files of several resolution (i.e. 300 dpi, 96 dpi) and I've found that I can read 96 dpi without the reader crashing, even if the last magazine was 120 pages with lots of images.
So, I'm assuming that the pdf mahazines that make the reader crash have a greater dpi size, considering that page size is smaller (tipically 70 pages)
Does someone knows a software that will batch process pdf files reducing the dpi size?
I would prefer a mac software, but I have a pc too.

I use an Acrobat plugin, Quite A Box Of Tricks, to resize images in PDFs. It works with Acrobat's batch processes, so it can do an entire folder of PDFs automatically.

However, it is an Acrobat plugin... you need the full version of Acrobat to make it work, and Acrobat Pro to use batch processes. And it's not cheap:

UK pounds 125.00 plus 18.75 VAT at 15% (tax)
US dollars 205.00
Euros 199.00 plus 29.85 VAT at 15% (tax)
