Just one more reason why I am glad that I have downloaded and stored ALL my books in Calibre. I will of course miss FW and I also will go through my entire library and ensure that I have all the books purchased on the site in Calibre.
RIP FW! I think we all knew it was just a matter of time. |

FW was the store which got me into buying commercial eBooks in the first place (prior to them, I just read public domain stuff). Now, though, they're just... irrelevant. I wonder how long any of the non-specialist independents (eg BooksOnBoard) can survive.

I'm actually surprised they've lasted this long. Unless the majority of the mainstream publishers go DRM-free their business model has limited growth potential. |

19 of my 440 transfered. I didn't expect 440 new books to show up in my B&N account as some titles are duplicates due to the eReader copies they gave when OverDrive dropped them, but I thought it would be more than 19. What did transfer seems completely random and strange. One of the books is from a now defunct publisher and a couple others are with different publishers now than the versions in my account. I wouldn’t think they’d be able to get the rights to do that. Also they transferred one or two books from various publishers, but there are tons more from the same publishers that they didn’t transfer in fact B&N is now trying to sell me books I have in my FW account based on the few that did transfer.
I hope more than the 19 transfer over (although I do have backups of my FW account) otherwise the whole transfer thing seems pretty pointless. |

Out of 156 books, five transfered over. Of course B&N found five books that are not in my Calibre library - because I hated them so much they were deleted with glee. What are the odds of only picking books I despised?
Luckily I only did the transfer out of curiosity as everything was previously backed up. |

Has anyone seen any new books appear since the initial transfer?

I only had two books come over in the initial transfer. Though the page *did* say that it would take some time. I figure I'll wait until Monday before I bug support.

I find myself wondering if they're also excluding books that were bought for effectively 'free' as part of one of FW's long-ago deals - the ones where you got free micropay money with a purchase to spend on other ebooks. That might go some way to explaining why out of nearly a hundred books, I'm seeing perhaps a dozen at best.

Is it possible some of those books simply aren't available to B&N in the first place? I've never used them, so I have no idea how wide a range of books they have compared to Amazon.

No - I have a large number of books that are available to B&N, and that aren't on their exclusion list, that haven't transferred over.
