Pre-packing for my trip tomorrow. Which basically means I'm piling stuffing on my bed. To be packed tonight and tomorrow morning. I'm still contemplating whether or not to bring my cross stitch project. I'll let it depend on how full my suitcase is tomorrow morning.
Luna has already figured out that I'm going away, and is not happy about it. It also means that I have to do all the chores I normally do on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday today. So I need to get going on that. |

My towel is stored in a safe place. Now if I could remember where that safe place is...

I just kitted up my next cross stitch project. I've used my new pinking shears on the fabric, let's see how well that works for fraying. I know fabric glue works best, but I do like the look of the pinking shears. Not that you will see it once I frame it in a hoop.
I'll finish my current project tonight. I'm looking forward to starting my new project; an orange slice. I'm extending my break for my big, confetti heavy project a little longer. My current project was very simple (sky with four rows of trees), the orange project is a bit more complicated, but not as confetti heavy as my big project. But now it's first time for Sunday chores before the Formula 1 starts. |

I’ve never thought of pinking or glue for the edges. I might try those.
I usually zigzag them on my sewing machine, or serge them, back when I had a serger. Mine do show, because I use map pins to mount the fabric directly on the wall. I’m not keen on frames. On one or two pieces, I’ve sewn a brown fabric faux frame. To each their own! |

If the edges were going to be on display I would first use the pinking shears and then the fabric glue, that way the zig zag wouldn't fray. I don't have a sewing machine (yet), so I've been mostly using the glue, which is invisible.
I have yet to put up any of my finished works. I want to display a couple. Two, including the one I'm starting tomorrow, will be put in hoops and I'll finish the back with some felt. I have two foxes and I'm not sure how I want to display them. My current big project is an image by Mucha, which I'm making for my sister. Which she is going to get framed, I think (I paid for the kit and put in the hours, she can pay for the framing). To be honest, I'm not planning to put up most of my projects, I just enjoy the activity. If someone expresses and interest in them once I'm finished they can have them, but that hasn't happened so far. |

Yeah, I only do it for myself, and because I enjoy stitching.

For me it's also a good activity to do when watching TV, I need to keep my hands busy. When I don't cross stitch I tend to do things on my tablet and get too distracted and miss things of the show or movie I'm watching. With cross stitching I can keep my hands busy whilst following what's going on tv fairly well.

Just put the final Ciaphus Cain novel onto my kindle. Kind of makes me sad that there won't be any more for quite some time, if ever

Preparing for the day ahead. Normally I work until 2pm on Tuesday. But my father's got an appointment this afternoon so I offered to work all day. In exchange I work until 2pm on Saturday instead of 5pm. This Saturday is the Canal Pride, the boats come by our house between 3.30 and 6pm, it's always very loud boom boom music (and I'm sensitive to loud sounds). This way I can escape most of the noise by staying in my room at the back of the house. My father will be able to manage the store, since it won't be busy that afternoon, last year we had only one customer after the boat parade started. Which was just as well, because even with the shop door closed you can barely hear one another.
I'm not expecting it to be busy today. So I'm bringing my cross stitch to work on for after I finish my current book. I'll also bring my tablet, since I've got the cross stitch pattern in an app. |

Captured a runaway Yorkie whilst walking tonight - fortunately I knew where to return the wee beastie! Got a wet cold nose kiss for my efforts.
