It looks like the Ink Pad 840 has the same E-ink screen used in the Colour Lux, but without the colour filters in place. That puts the resolution at 1600x1200; very nice! They've also put in a faster processor (1Gz) and twice the RAM (512MB) as the Colour Lux. Since there were a lot of complaints about the performance of the Colour Lux, it looks like they've tried to address that in this new model. It remains to be seen if it's fast enough.

Still, these new models look very interesting!

Nice, though I don't know about the release date. I tried checking a couple of their websites http://www.pocketbook-int.com/welcome-pocketbook and none of them mention the Inkpad yet.

"ośmiocalowy" means "eight inch" in the translation above.

That's not a bad translation overall considering that, because of its grammatical redundancy, word order is not that important in Polish, whereas it is in English.

But I digress...

From the pictures in the article it does look like they removed the Home and Menu buttons from the device (they were there on the Colour Lux). Maybe they were getting accidentally pressed in that position. It would have been nice if they just moved them to the bottom of the bezel.

I've bought the Onyx, too, but only because the display on my Icarus 8 was slowly dying and I needed a good place-holder; I will get the InkPad as soon as it is available.

After reading on an 8 inch screen for a year now I just can't go back to a 6 inch device; they're just too small.
