iBooks and PDF metadata

I created an ebook available in a variety of different formats, including ePub and mobile-device sized PDFs. It's DRM-free and downloadable here at MobileRead and also on my webpage here. A friend of mine with an iPad told me that the ePub's metadata is working OK in iBooks 1.1, but that the PDF metadata is not registering. The PDF in question definitely has the usual PDF author and title, etc., filled in. Is this a problem in general with iBooks and PDF metadata, or is it my book in particular?

Any input would be appreciated.

My observation is that a PDF's Author and Title are properly displayed in iBooks, but in iTunes only the Title is picked up from the PDF.

Subject is not mapped to Category in either iTunes or iBooks.
