Amazon metadata import failure
I bought the book shown in the attached screenshot today, but after de-drming and converting to epub, the download metadata filed, as detailed in the spoiler text:
Spoiler:
The only relevant result is Amazon, as it's Amazon-only. I did try the same search on the de-drm'd azw3, and also tried adding (and then substituting) the ISBN of the paperback edition. Same result. What am I doing wrong? |

That's because there is no such book in the search engine search results. See for instance: https://www.google.com/search?q=Elus...www.amazon.com

Thanks for the prompt reply. When I click on that link, I see the book's cover included in the image result. Would forcing it to search only by identifiers work, since the book clearly exists at Amazon? |

No, the identifiers dont show matches either, in your log the search is first done using isbn

Odd. I wonder why the isbn search turned up no matches, when I got the ISBN from Amazon? It's not a big problem, it just means I have to enter the metadata manually. Dozens of extra keystrokes, woe is me!

Have you tried using the mobi-asin identifier (mobi-asin: B09VCHKT5C) or amazon identifier (amazon: B09VCHKT5C) for instance? Copy the asin and then click on the Ids icon to bring up a list of possible prefixes. I've generally found that using the ISBN (10 or 13) is not all that helpful when searching metadata from Amazon.

The listed identifier in the epub was the ASIN, and only the ASIN. The listed identifier for the azw3 was the mobi-asin, and only the mobi-asin. It was after those failed that I tried adding the ISBN, meaning the search was done with two identifiers, asin, and isbn
