Calibre constantly crashing in macOS Sierra

I am unable to add more than one new title to Calibre in macOS Sierra without the app crashing, at which point the only alternative is to force quit Calibre.

Adding one title is fine but if there are more what seems to work is to quite Calibre, open it up again, add a title, and if I still have more to load I must quit, reopen then add. Rinse and repeat.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Would the most recent crash report be of any help?

(Tried numerous times to paste the 1082kb rtf file is reply box only to have it freeze on both my Mac laptop and Windows 7 desktop. Am attempting to send it now as a zip file. I've got my fingers crossed that *maybe* this will help shed some light on the chronic crashes)

That's a weird report, it indicates the start() method in the system dynamic library laoder is hanging. I dont know of anything that could cause that. Do you have some kind of modified libdyld.dylib on your system?

There *is* a fie, libalfcrypto.dylib, in a DeDRM_lib folder, but the parent app has not, repeat not, been installed on my MacBook Pro. Below are the remaining similar files and their locations.

Uninstall the drm removal plugin you have installed in calibre and you should be fine.

There are currently no plugins at all installed in my version of Calibre (see image link below).

Unless I'm missing the obvious (and there's a good chance I am), I can't find or see any reference to any drm plugin *that is currently installed* in the list of files I provided.

Please, Kovid---enlighten me.

This board has a very reliable image hosting facility, responders shouldn't have go elsewhere to get your images, so they can respond to your problems.

Rename the directory that has your Calibre settings and let Calibre start fresh. That way you get rid of anything that could be causing the problem.
