Hello again. After looking at the document you sent me and checking the serial number of my model, I believe it's a Kobo Clara HD N249. I removed the back cover and it does have a removable memory card. As I mentioned before, it's frozen, and I think the solution is to erase all the data on the card and add a new image. Is that the solution? Could you provide me with that image? Thank you very much in advance.

Hi all,

Should never have tried that update!
After some long tries to get the firmware back, managed to kill the sd card.
Now I am looking for a fresh Kobo Glo N613 .img file.

Many thanks!
Dirk

Libra 2 Help Please

Requesting full SD card image for Kobo Libra 2 (N418). Device is in blank screen boot loop with flashing LED after internal SD card corruption. CHKDSK showed ‘cannot write boot sector’. I have a backup of the visible partition

Hello - I am a bit stuck!

I was about to sell an unused Kobo Mini (hadn't been used for years) and thought that it would be a good idea to log out of my account that was still on the device. Not sure how or why but when I restarted it wouldn't get beyond the set up screen. Couldn't reconnect via PC or wifi method. Some googling suggested that this was a fairly common issue so I followed some instructions to remove the SD card and try the glo firmware - this worked but I was still stuck with the same issue. I tried to go back to the original image but something went wrong and I am now stuck with a frozen smiley face. No amount of sliding the switch or pinhole prods now does anything so I fear that I have bricked it, sadly. No power lights at all.

Is there an image available that might help me or is all lost?

Device info states serial number and software version if that helps?

N7052B3005316
3.4.1 (d83b1b0e2a,5/25/14)

All help gratefully received! I have some images of it before and after also.

As far as I know, the Kobo N428 is the Libra Colour which does not have removable internal storage. See the attached image. The large chip near the edge of the board labelled MKEMF032GT1E-C is a 32GB eMMC.

Hi,

Could you please send me a firmware image for the Kobo Libra 2 418? Flashing white led. My "private message" is enabled. I've been looking in the group but can't figure out how to find how to find my hardware model for the 5 different images.

Merci et bonne journée!

Image provided worked perfectly.

For a device that seemingly would be easy to be apart of a right to repair movement I think it is odd that we have to rely on a forum community to provide these files. but my friend is quite thankful to have their device working again.

Good to hear your friend's Clara HD is working again. I'm not sure that any company would offer the service of providing these files without charging to cover their costs. There is also the issue that if the problem is a hardware issue, the image will not help but the customer is likely to scream blue bloody murder about their device not being fixed and demanding a refund or a replacement device.
