kindle paperwhite update software by itself

my pw update to 5.34 by itself without asking me , i have to reconfig everything again

how can i stop it to update firmware in future by itself ?

but i use wifi for SSH transfer

I should probably do that, but I decided just to not turn wifi on. I have everything the way I want it, hackwise.

I'm giving it a try on my Paperwhite. I don't have KUAL so not doing it that way.

I put the back door lock on both of my Kindles, just in case. One of them I never need to take out of airplane mode. The other one, I will do once a month for the kindle lending library book. I could read it on my Fire, but I don't.
