How do I play music on my kindle?

Assuming you have a model with either a headphone jack or Bluetooth look for the Sox media player extension.

I believe that the v2 player requires Python installed as well. Do you have that installed?

Alternatively, you might want to try the original player which does not require Python.

Download the Python package appropriate for your Kindle and follow the installation instructions.

Keep in mind that if you are on firmware 5.16.3 or higher that these packages may not work as they have not been rebuilt for that firmware.

Alternatively you may install the original player which does not require Python to work.

I have tested the player on the latest firmware for the Kindle Scribe, and it indeed does not work. How do I go about removing Python?

Apply the Update*uninstall.bin file included in the package.

As noted above I believe you should be able to use the original player, but it also might not work on the latest firmware due to the change to HF libraries.

Depending upon your needs and your device it might be possible to downgrade to a firmware version prior to the change to HF libraries.

Please note that you should NEVER downgrade to a firmware prior to the original version supplied with the initial release of a device. Any firmware prior to that initial device release will likely lack support for your hardware and could result in a brick.

Beyond that all you can do is wait for updated packages with the HF libraries supported.

all i have is one option called create menu?

What firmware level are you running? If 5.16.3 or higher you will need to wait for a newer version of Python to be available.

You might be able to run the original Sox player, but I don't know that for sure at this point. It is possible that even that version might need to be rebuilt for the latest firmware.
