Just wanted to say thanks, and SUPER DUPER THANKS to all involved for setting up the wiki.

(Also, not to take away from the thanks, the firmware updates page is inconsistent with the Kindle models page, linking to a bunch of 5.14.x firmware releases instead of the more current ones listed on the newer page. Maybe the two pages can be combined, with one table that links both to the latest firmware and the correct jailbreak associated with it?)

To complete the sandwich: no really, thanks for all of this!

Yeah, redoing a lot of the documentation is on the roadmap alongside actual docs for Kindle dev

Same here (error during MRPI). I did the whole procedure and jailbreak seems to be on place. But KOreader wont start.

I installed WinterBreak on my PW6 Kids with 5.17.0, but can't install Hotfix.
I'm getting this error:

"Update failed.

Sorry, something went wrong.
Press the power button to restart your Kindle."

Then it restarts automatically after few seconds.

At least no boot loop, it boots regularly.

Any ideas?

I got this one, but after reloading and trying again hotifx installed just fine, although I have a problem with error when trying to install mod manager

May I know the first 6 characters of your Kindle's serial number?

I installed the JB and the hotfix, but now my Kindle reports less than 1 GB total capacity in settings, and now I can't open the Kindle's storage on my PC because it reports that the drive needs to be formatted. What should I do?

EDIT: I didn't get to run the hotfix "book" on my home screen because it never showed up.

I have the same error on 5.17.1.0.4 Paperwhite 12th Gen, KUAL won't install.

I got it working on Kindle Oasis 32GB 10th Generation.

Stuck on Paperwhite 12th

Try rebooting, if that doesn't work do the following

1. De-register the Kindle
2. Reset the Kindle from settings

I'm currently investigating what could be causing userstore issues like this, not really seeing anything obvious at this time though

You may need to use a Nightly KindleHF build if on a new firmware.

NiLuje has updated the KUAL binaries on his snapshots page to support the 2024 new kindles (the one to use is the “coplate” version). However for some reason it’s not working on my Colorsoft (logs say that my device is not targeted by this package). Perhaps it will work for you.
