Can someone please explain to me what I am doing wrong. Why am I unable to convert my kpf file to kfx.

Try the GUI and see if your KPF file can be converted.

@phlsphr_dirtbike Book filename contains spaces so you must surround the whole path with quotations :

A quick glance via the epub editor, everything looked clean. Instead of fighting this, I chose to convert the books that failed to KFX. Save them to disk. Then transfer them to my kindle via file manager. I also had to change the metadata plugboard to change the title [{author_sort} - {series} - {series_index:05.2f} - {title}] when saving KFX to disk so it matched all of the book formats I send as epub.

Your KFX files always look great (after renamed to *.azw8) in Kindle previewer and these books open fine in the Kindle itself.

I am curious about what is present in those books leading to them being rejected by the Kindle Previewer. I will look into the root cause if you either post an EPUB with copyrighted content removed using the ScrambleEbook plugin or PM me a link to an original file that produces this error. (I understand if you are not interested in tasking this any further.)

@jhowell, Thanks for your insight. If others find themself in this situation, a simple Epub - KFX - Epub conversion will remove the crap in the original epub which was causing the hiccup.

Out of a perhaps morbid curiosity, what legitimate ebook retailer is using BitTorrent to deliver ebooks? For the most part, ebooks torrents are used by pirate sites and I hadn't heard that Image Comics were giving their comics away for free.

Also to quote from the first message in this thread under the Converting Comics and Manga: header:

The plugin is also not able to convert fixed layout comics and manga from source formats such as CBR, CBZ, EPUB, or MOBI.

There was a workaround for that limitation involving unpacking the CBR/CBZ files and repacking them with Kindle Create but I've never needed to use it and not sure if it even still works.

Hi just trying this out and converted some sample books to KFX.

I tried to put them on my Samsung S24 in both Books and Kindle folders - but they never show up in Kindle for Android. I can't get access to android Data folder at the moment to try this but I was just wondering if anyone has this working and if so what folder you use?

It works for me on a Samsung tablet, but only if I copy the KFX file to the "Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files" folder.
