I use my 2-in-1 laptop tablet to read. I love calibre and haven't found anything better. However, the tablet only has 32GB of storage built in and most of that is used by the system. To get around this, I use a Micro SD to store my files.
My issue is this: calibre will recognize the SD card as the main library if I start with it completely empty. My books are stored on my main PC and i have to put the SD in that to load my books up for the tablet. If I do this, whether the library is created via the tablet or the PC (both have calibre), it will only recognize the SD as a device and not the main library. Any ideas? TLDR; tablet calibre wont accept sd as main storage unless empty. sd cant be empty bc books are unable to be stored anywhere else. |

I dont follow your issue. You can create a calibre library anywhere on any drive. The only thing you should be careful to do is connect your SD card and give it the same drive letter before you start calibre.

When I start the library on my tablet (running 5.44 32bit) initially, it will accept that as the main library. However, if I start the library on my desktop computer (running current version) so I can add my books, my tablet will only accept it as a device.
I cannot keep my books on the tablet hard drive due to storage issues, and everything must be kept on the SD card. Is there a way to set up the library on the tablet's SD card as the main storage and be able to add files on the desktop? |

You cannot access the same library with Calibre 5.44 and the current version, as there have been changes to the database between versions. So you either use the same version to connect to your library or use the SD card as a device on your tablet.
