If they're serious about making the WalMart partnership work, a lower price point would be helpful. Call it a 'student model'.

The Walmart deal seems pretty stagnant on both ends. I don’t think kobo wants to produce a money losing product just to entice Walmart to actually be a good partner

They need to release the under $100 model, a $79 would do very nice. How about the glo 3? Since many iksnay the kobo mini. However from a business perspective a kobo mini 2 selling at $49 would fly off the shelves, throw in an sd card slot and guaranteed you wouldn't be able to keep up to demand.
ps. sorry I forgot the Aura edition 2 which is $129.99 - currently the cheapest but only slightly however notice it's not in stock.
So very much wrong.

You can get the Walmart exclusive Kobo Aura with 1024x768 resolution, carta screen, and comfortlight for $69.96. SO yes, Kobo does have a decent low end model for lees then your proposed $79 price.

No Walmart here in Italy but also in the rest of Europe, as stated by Wikipedia. In UK it controls ASDA but I don't know if there is a partnership with Kobo.

And Kobo Aura is out of stock in Kobo site.

The Kobo Aura sold by Walmart is a Walmart exclusive. I do not know if Walmart will ship outside the USA. But you could try to find out.
