For me, I love ebooks because they have preserved my ability to read after suffering a mild stroke in 2008. My eyesight was affected by the stroke and reading a paperback or hardback book with regular font size was out of the question. I was reduced to reading the books with the large size fonts, but those were few and far between. Ereaders and ebooks solved that dilemma for me, and for that, I will be eternally grateful.

I can carry one or more "ebook" in one lightweight package.
The "book" fits easily in my pants pocket. I can tailor the visage...background color, font type, font color, etc. I can easily read during the day or in my bed at night without a light on...my wife much appreciates the darkness. I can find thousands of "free" ebooks online at a variety of locations. I can buy a book while sitting on the beach and have it on my reader within a minute more or less. |

I love e-books because if I want to read a particular book, I can get it almost instantly. Previously, I had to wait 2-4 weeks to get my paws on an English novel or non-fiction book, unless it was something very popular (then it took 2-3 days).
My budget hates e-books for the same reason. |

I like them because when I fall asleep reading in bed they don't klonk me on the nose.
Also I don't have to make weekly trips to our Public library. |

Fonts fonts fonts. I like choosing fonts. I like the variety etc. I like books that I get to configure! (clearly I am talking about non-DRM ebooks in a reader that allows me to change fonts and/or run through Calibre's conversion plugins!) |

I've cut my risk of having to get a blood transfusion due to multiple paper cuts in one sitting in half.
Carrying one little device with all your stuff is better than a huge bag of it too. |

I agree with a lot of the reasons mentioned. And if I have been reading one book and want to I can switch to another one for a while, then come back to the 1st one later without having to carry a lot of paper around.

I love ebooks because I can have a world of knowledge in my pocket. I can read anywhere and style the book to my specific reading needs.

I love ebooks because I once packed 15 books in my suitcase for a 2-week vacation.

... because it is either ebooks or nothing for me. Expat, not speaking the two local languages, automatically no bookstores or libraries of use.

Because if I decide I don't like the (e)book I brought to read in the waiting room while my folks are seeing a doctor, etc., ... I can instantly pick another ... from hundreds that are waiting for me!
