Now having aquired an iPad, I am using the Catalog feature of Calibre as I want hard copy of the books loaded on my Sony reader AND/OR the iPad.

This I can do, but I had a problem loading the iPad as many books bought for the Sony are DRM protected. They loaded to the iPad, but would not display.

When Cataloging one's Calibre library, is it possible to indicate the DRM status of each book?

You can create a custom column, but you still will have to populate it yourself

You might be able to get a listing from "My Digital Editions" folder on your PC that you authorized the books with.
