Where to buy Onyx Boox in USA?
What are the latest/current models and where to buy from USA?
Fakespot plugin is showing a "Seller Caution" for Onyx International Inc on Amazon which seems strange to me. It's not like they are some smalltime unknown seller, right? |

Why not the Boox US website?
https://us.boox.com/ Just don't buy the goofy Russian after market models on other sites (unless that's what you're actually looking for). |

(Kon-Tiki 2 is perfectly fine so far not goofy by any means, I bought it via Ectaco reseller here: http://www.onyxbooxusa.com/onyx-boox-kon-tiki
Most of the Russian models are just respective models but without Wacom layer, so no note taking. The website itself says "Insecure", but when it comes to entering payment method, it is done via usual secure connection. At least this is what happened to me.) |

SW are pretty fine. There have been about five update since launch in early 2021, so around five updates in a year. Updates are applied manually, i.e. I need to download upx file and put it into the folder. However if I am not mistaken the last update allowed to download ITA as well, but anyway updates are full 1.2-1.4 GB, not incremental, so they are very lenient with the system integrity.

Technically I think there are at least 3 official websites. I got mine through shop.boox.com I'm Asia Pacific so that was fine. I picked Hong Kong warehouse (I think UK was also an option to pick, Brexit would be the reason that's on its own now). Then there's the US and Euro store which you can choose from off the main website to redirect to, https://us.boox.com/ and https://euroshop.boox.com/. Could be for a number of reasons, tax, regulation, keep import duties lower and shipping lower (I don't think it's shipping that cost me an outrageous packet and coming from Hong Kong isn't that expensive usually).

You can also get them from Best Buy's website and just pick them up at the local store.

If you buy the Poke3 from US Onyx it comes with the cover "free". (I did.) Best Buy only sells the cover separately for $40. On no planet is that cover worth $40. It's not bad for "free". OTOH, other Onyx models don't have free accessories so it works out the same. |

Thanks for the Best Buy suggestion.
The Poke 3 doesn't have the Wacom layer. Does that make it a "goofy Russian aftermarket model"? |

The Poke3 is an official Onyx Boox release. That it's one of their models without Wacom is irrelevent.
Darwin 8, Edison, Faust 3, Volta 3, Lomonosov, Kon-Tiki 2 are "goofy Russian aftermarket models". The website that they link sells the Poke3 for $279 vs. $189 from https://us.boox.com/ |

On the US Boox website it list Poke 3 w/accessories and Poke 3 Special Edition - is there any place to find out the details of each? What are the "accessories"?
TIA |

Can't you just get them from Amazon? Bestbuy sounds like a good option too. Personally I'd rather get one from from a place I can easily return it to and get a replacement/refund if necessary. Dealing with China is too long and unreliable.
