Sideloaded fonts look bold on Libra Colour

I'm trying to figure out why certain sideloaded fonts (Constantia, for example) are much bolder on the Libra Colour than my Libra H2O. Settings are the same for both. I even went to the advanced option on the Colour and moved the weight slider all the way to the left. No luck, still bold looking. Is there anyway to fix this?

You may need to edit the font files in something like FontForge.

Have you checked the panose weight of the font files that you loaded? Kobo expects a certain format that isn't always used by default, and makes the renderer default to bold fonts. Check this page here and make sure your files have the correct weight.

That Wiki entry is missing the images. this is from the directions on editing the fonts.
