Is now a good time to buy?
I am thinking of buying a Nook HD+ in the next few days. I am wondering if now is a good time to buy one, or is it possible they will be cheaper soon?

You might get a slightly better deal than what's available at the moment around Black Friday. Hard to tell if we'll see a deeper discount or not, though.

If you keep an eye on the ebay daily deals....the other day a big seller had the HD+ 16gb NEW for $119.

Here is a daily deal -
1saleaday.com, Nook HD+ 16GB tablet for $119.99. They have a link to a $20 rebate form you can mail in as well that'd make it $99.99 after that. Now that makes it the lowest I have seen, although it is factory refurbished. |

Thanks, booklover for the heads up on this. I just ordered one.
I've had good luck buying refurbished in the past, so I didn't hesitate here. Moreover, it comes with a 1-year warranty, and I pay no sales tax which I had to pay when I bought my HD from my local B&N. Looking forward to the larger screen for PDFs which is what I mostly bought it for. I will continue to use my HD as my main ebook reader and for general tablet use away from home. --Pat |

That's exactly why I just bought a Plus as well. I love my HD as a general tablet and regular e-reading but got the larger screen for pdfs, magazines and maybe netflix.
Prices may be a bit lower here and there but since B&N quit making the tablets I think they are going to get harder to find. When I decided to get mine a few weeks ago, Best Buy, Staples and Office Max had already run out and were not getting anymore. Target had a few left, which is where I got mine, and of course I could have ordered from B&N but wanted to get it sooner. Supposedly they sold the tablet part of their business to an outside company but I haven't heard of anyone making them yet. Last edited by catsknit; 10-15-2013 at 08:17 AM. Reason: added |

Updating my own post: today I got an email from B&N, telling me that the price on the HD has dropped by $30. It figures ...
I just bought an HD, which is practically a guarantee that either (a) the price will go down or (b) they'll bring out a new tablet. Last edited by dandelioncottage; 10-20-2013 at 11:43 AM. |
