Future of OverDrive
I have a Kobo Aura One and I use the OverDrive feature to borrow books from my library quite extensively.

I read that Rakuten sold OverDrive off to KKR, and I'm wondering what the future of the relationship will be between Kobo and OverDrive. Is that a feature we may potentially loose?

KKR has agreed to buy OverDrive from Rakuten (press release). The sale has not yet occurred and no date has for that been disclosed.

It is way too soon to tell what impact the sale will have.

It's not dead.
Just resting.

The deal won't close for months so what comes next Wednesday n-t be kniwn until after that. It'll be business as usual until then and, afterwards, until the contract between Kobo and Rakuten ends.
No immediate danger, if ever.

I do not see a reason for things to change. Its a big selling point on KOBOs
