Jailbreak for PW3 manga version
Hello,

I got a Kindle PW3 manga version (32G) when I traveled in Japan. But I just notice Jailbreak is not supported . Is there any update on this? I want to jailbreak the kindle and install kindlelazy.

Have you powered it on yet?

Support for the PW3-32 is a work in progress.
As usual, no prediction can be made about future support.

It is known for certain that the factory firmware for the older PW3 models will brick it.
Somebody tried it and posted about it here.

What we really need is to be in touch with someone who has ordered but not yet received the device.

Assuming he has a CD/DVD drive he should be able to boot a Linux Live CD of some sort. Without a CD/DVD he would need to prepare a USB boot of a Live image.

I imagine the Kubrick bootable system would work if he can get to a terminal window.

I have used linux before, although sparingly, and also have a cd drive.
What sort of actions are required? You want to create a copy of the os?

Knc1 will need to give you the specifics as I don't know them, but there is a way to extract the information necessary to add support for new devices from a linux terminal window given a never touched device. Given you have a CD drive you should be able to burn a linux boot CD to use for this purpose. Knc1 might have a particular distro to recommend for this. You will need to boot the linux CD and then follow the procedure to extract the information. I would imagine you will also need a memory stick to store whatever you obtain, as I doubt you would want the linux boot to touch your W10 drives.
