"Collgen" an on-board Collection Generator. Released

Recently, I am developing a On Board "Collection Generator".

You can organize your books into folders and press a launchpad hot-key. Then, it will generate a full Collection and restart your kindle. After your kindle restarted. Your collection and file is well organized base on your file structure.

Right now, it support includes amazon azw, mobi, pdf, txt. I don't know what else could be used.

Collgen v0.1

This is a on-board collection generator. You need to put it in
your kindle and run on your kindle system. Very easy and clean.

It your the directory names in your documents directory to build
collections.

Created by qinbill@gmail.com. lets call it "collgen".
Any questions or bugs please report to this address.

Launchpad

Installation:

ebook2
CollectionName2 <--- This will become collection name on your kindle

Quite interesting. Unfortunately, it will not work for me, since Calibre automatically organizes the books by author, and I don't want a collection for each author.

You forgot to add "in your opinion". What is simple about having to jailbreak a kindle and install additional software on it, and keep jail breaking it every time amazon releases a firmware update? To me, nothing. And don't even try to argue about "messing" with your device when you are talking about jail breaking and special software as a requirement for your alternative.

Calibre won't win any beauty contests I agree, but stability and performance are continually improved, when was the last time you tried it?

Sorry but I couldn't let such a lame response go unanswered. Good luck with your app, I won't be touching it with a barge pole myself, but then I am one of the 99.99% who have not found a compelling reason to jailbreak their Kindle.
