Amazon Art: Online Marketplace for serious art

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-575...n-its-palette/

Quote:
Amazon has launched a new marketplace for art lovers.

The company on Tuesday announced Amazon Art, a new marketplace featuring more than 40,000 works of fine art from 150 galleries and dealers. The marketplace includes works from more than 4,500 artists, and features everything from drawing and ink to paintings.

The range of prices offered in Amazon Art is quite something. The marketplace offers Clifford Ross works for just $200, but is also selling pieces from Monet and Norman Rockwell that go for $1.45 million and $4.85 million, respectively.
And people used to think of Microsoft as the Borg...

Fine art as dry goods.
Might work.

One-click buying has never been so dangerous!

Have you heard of the iTunes bills racked up by kids on iPads and phones?
In the UK they're estimating something lie 30m pounds a year.

With Amazon Art you're likely going to need one heck of a credit card tied to your account if you click on a high-end picture.

"Surely that must be in pesos."

Strangely enough, if you bother to read the comments, most people seem to think that parents actually have some responsibility considering it takes 4 clicks to DISABLE in game purchases for all games and that giving kids your password just might rate as incredibly stupid... just like giving them your Amazon/eBay access would be considered stupid... Still, any chance to have a go at anything Apple... couldn't you spread the attacks around occasionally as one or two other companies also do unwanted/unpleasant stuff...

Attack?
All I did was point out that people get themselves in trouble through carelessness all the time. The links were about cellphones as well as tablets...

Amazon is just adding what is being done by other independent on-line art sites such as Fine Art America where I sell my prints and originals.
