Tried "China" on title search

But try this. From your front page, enter china into the title search string. Leave it at all formats.

1st page of results, no problems. But notice the sequence of books following the book with red cover: China on the brink.

Okay, hit Next page. My my, it is now the first selection on page 2. Notice the squence of books following. same as on page 1.

Okay, hit Next page again. Well whaddya know. You get the same selections on page 3 as you did on page 2. And lookee here, there must be a lot of titles with China in it, cause the pull down jump to shows 18, and probably more.

We'll get there yet. A fully functioning estore, but much much faster if you get a webmaster that lives in the same time zone as you!
Dear rxsz:

I see what you mean. I will bring that up for fixing also.

I have noted that every now and then the search brings up the same page recurringly. I will try to get this corrected too.

One thing is for certain... setting up an eBook Store optimally is not so easy. We are making progress... but this is no easy task. Never knew so many things could pop up.

Eventually we will hammer ALL of this out!

Note to all:

PLEASE do keep signing up!! The contest is on until May 7. The site IS working! Despite occasional hiccups to improve the workings... you CAN buy books now and buying goes smoothly.

Google absolutely floored us also when at the last second they said: "Oh, by the way, Google books on your website are strictly USA".

Their reasoning is that others in Italy, France, Canada may want to also carry Google eBooks. WHY that would be a problem if we also offered the Google eBooks in Canada they did not say.

We ARE still working with Google to at least add Canada!! And we want a lot more. Sometimes rules make no sense and this appears to be one. Google is a great firm and is helping us and I am very grateful. But, I would like YOU to be able to get the Google too!
Robertb: I had a problem buying a pay title. For an unknown reason, once I went to the checkout, your system did not let me go beyond the first address screen as I did not select a state. I did try a few times to buy an ebook and always had the same problem.

The problem seems to have been corrected as after seeing your posting (is that the correct word?) I went back on your website and managed to buy a few ebooks...

Thanks.

Dear tzn22:

Thank you for continuing to try. We are getting there.

One thing I know affects all of this is that the webmaster is working on the creation of a full FORUM on EZread.com. This will allow total interaction with the eBook Specialists and others who love books. It is wonderful to have this ability and we hope to have it up still this week.

However, we are working on things and sometimes making one change impacts others. It can be a horrible task for the webmaster. He needs to make the changes... but not disrupt the site.

Thank you, Robert! My 9-year old is happily signed up. Thank you so much! Most contests are just for people 18 and up, so it's fun for her to be able to sign up for something, especially something that involves her favorite activity, reading!

Robertb, I've been thinking... is there any chance of Astak creating some sort of referral program? I was thinking these EZ Readers are so cool... and if we were to show them to all our friends and family and they realized how cool they are and wanted to buy one too... it would be really cool if there was some sort of code they could enter in when they bought one... whoever referred them could get some sort of credit, and maybe a coupon for a free book from your ebook store! Or... say we were to blog about it, and someone clicked the link to your site and purchased one, it could somehow show that they got there from a particular blog, and then the blogger could get credit for a free book... or at least a certain amount off any book from your ebook store, or something like that...

Dear Davimee:

I guess I look at things differently than most. Illiteracy rates are growing, kids are not reading as much, most eBook Readers are sold to people 40 plus years old. I look at this and say why should not a child of nine be able to get in the contest. That is old enough to read well and old enough to learn to like eBook Readers. We will change the world one child at a time.

Dear Davimee:

Yes there is a good chance. We want referrals and we count SO much on word-of-mouth. I am copying your entire post and sending it for consideration.

I do not know how we can assess a number; but we will come up with something. We do want to have some type of a club also on our eBook Store. Something where is you purchase "x" amount of eBooks in a set time you get one free... or something like that. I am urging creativity here in rewarding frequent customers.

Your point is well-taken!!
