Hello everyone. I'm just getting into the ebook era and I'm really not even sure which reader I'm going to purchase yet. Any thoughts are welcome. I live in the U.S. (Arizona). It is very hot here and a good time to stay indoors and read.:

Hi bobmere and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a Sony 505 for over two years now and really like it.

Good to have your company, Bob. Being in the US, you have a huge range of readers and ebook stores available with few geographical restrictions on titles. Before making your choice, though, do check out the *Which One Should I Buy?* forum here. It's very much a matter of horses for courses, so you've got to be sure your machine will do everything you want it to (and -- some of us think -- no more than that). Good luck and best wishes. Neil

Welcome to MR, Dr. Bob, "ditto" to neilmarr’s advice. Personally, I love my Nook, and highly recommend it. However, it’s not the right choice for everybody. In a city the size of Tucson, you'll b e able to get at least "hands on" Kindle, Kobo, Nook, and some Sony's (alpha order preserved to present the appearance of non-bias.)
Which ever reader you choose, do not leave it in the car, the Arizona heat will cause problems rebooting your reader cannot fix. |
