The Leaf presumably needs a bigger battery since Android is a much heavier OS than the lightweight Linux that Kobo uses. The Libra also has a wimpy CPU far below the 8-core CPUs found in most Onyx devices.

The CPU needs an upgrade more than the battery, IMO.

With the CPU upgrade, a battery upgrade is also useful. Most powerful CPU, more battery drain.

We may as well have a Carta 1300 screen as well. I did see the video that GoodEReader did comparing the screens of the Kindle Sage with iRiver. The difference between Carta 1200 and Carta 1300 is Carta 1300 has deeper black. The background of the screens looked about the same.

My shower thought about the upcoming Kobo is that they might want to release a device that competes with the latest Kindle Paperwhite (6.8"). So essentially, a slightly larger Clara. In fact, I'd absolutely buy such a device.

They already have a 7'' device. Why would they release a 6.8'' one? Yes, Amazon did, but Amazon apparently has no plans to upgrade their 7'' Oasis, so possibly the latest Paperwhite was meant to be its replacement.

Of course Kobo could replace the Libra 2 with a 6.8'' Paperwhite-like device. If so, that would be an instant no-buy for me. I absolutely don't want a traditional shape with no buttons.

Amazon still sells Oasis devices so who knows? It would very much make sense to have two devices with about 7" screens as you'll have people that prefer buttons (such as yourself) and people that don't care about buttons but would rather like the smaller footprint of a Kindle Paperwhite 6.8" device.
