Did't find how to test touch screen in diag mode. I will love to test the touch screen if it is possible.

That output looks similar to the output of one of the scripts on the diags partition, except it looks like the script uses ncurses output instead of XML like the diags menu item.

It is amazing that they can accurately read such a high resolution with so few LEDs and sensors. They are obviously doing some sort of proportional sensing between multiple blocked sensors, but it works a lot better than I would have expected. My testing shows that I can detect finger movements of a single pixel.

Can you try flashing 5.0.0 kernel (from fastboot) and main partition (from diags SSH), then upgrade from there? That has worked well for many people, and is documented in the debricking sticky thread.

Try flash 5.0.0 already,as I wrote in #2. It can't be update to 5.1.0 cause the touch screen not working correctly. flashing to 5.1.0 directly did not help too.(I don't have kernel-5.1.0.img though)

The version 5.1.0 firmware image requires the version 5.1.0 kernel to work correctly.

Just updating one part of the kernel & firmware pair will leave you without a working display because the display API (driver) changed between the versions.

You are being a bit too kind to amazon here. I think the words you used earlier that included "pooch" in them are more appropriate.

If you read the debricking sticky, the first post begins by saying that it is important to use matching kernel and partition versions.

The post above was dir194's last post at MobileRead. It would be good to know if he ever got his kindle working again after we told him he needs a matching firmware image and kernel version.

Here is his post history:

... make sure to report back that it worked, so that this thread doesn't again get hung up in the middle of ... errmm... something.
