Noob Question

It seems like I lose access to these each time my Kobo updates. Is there a way to avoid this?

And, once it has happened, do I have to just begin this download process anew?

You can actually choose a method without KFMon in /mnt/onboard/.adds/nm/

I have to say I rather prefer it over having to reinstall KFMon.

Thank you. I tried reboot=false option but still have the issue.

When you launch directly from nm without kfmoon, do Koreader reboot device on exit?

Yes as you have to reload Nickel.

Please; koReader issues belong in the koReader forumn, or there git hub repository --> https://github.com/koreader/koreader NOT on a Kobo forum.

When I close Koreader or Plato (from nickel menu) my device restarts. I tried opening them through the nickel menu_item in both formats - through kfmon and cmd-spawn. Both gives the same result.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong. I have kfmon, nm, koreader and plato installed. Used the one click install script.
Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's just reloading the default Nickel reader.

Yes, that is the normal and safest way to reload Nickel.

The difference between restarting only Nickel and restarting the whole device does seem to be up to about 8 seconds btw, so clearly I was wrong about it not making that much difference (and/or it differs per device).

I am sorry but the first post is very confusing. What am I to do about the " NOTE: On FW >= 4.17, you'll need to prevent Nickel from scanning *nix hidden folders."? How do I do that??

Nevermind. The script in the second message of this thread worked perfectly.

I have a Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2 which has been running kfmon+koreader for ages, but I decided to run one of the OCP installers because I wanted to give Plato a try.

Upon launching it, though, i get "[kfmon] launched plato.sh" but it immediately exits back to Nickel. Koreader still works fine.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? I'm not sure what's failing here.

Are you running the 4.38.23171 firmware?

@NiLuJe Is it possible to host the files at GitHub or somewhere else? The storage.gra.cloud.ovh.net links taking forever to download. Download speed is too slow (15-30kbps) when downloading files from this domain.

Hello, I'm having the same issue with Kobo Libra H2O, Plato crashes instead of opening, I have the 4.38.23171 firmware and never had this issue before.
I tried to "downgrade" Plato to the previous version 0.9.43 but it still crashes.
