Can I create am empty record that refers back to another record?

I was tagging all my books read in Delicious, but it has gotten fouled up by a redesign so I am just going to use Calibre for that now since Calibre has all my other book info anyway. I set up a custom field for 'date read' and so far, so good. But I have a few anthology works where I might read one book this year from it and another one next year. So how can I keep track of that? I am wondering if there might be a way to create a blank record but have it refer back to the other one. For example, create a record for 'Wuthering Heights' to indicate the date I read it, but have that refer or link somehow back to 'the Complete Bronte Sisters' if I choose it. Ideas?

You can create empty records. You can put anything you want into comments or custom fields, etc. for that empty record. You can't really link to another ebook record, but you can certainly copy the ebook into the new record (of course it's no longer "empty." You could consider breaking up the book with an editor.
