Paperwhite doesn't display publisher font but Kindle 3 does

Two days back I added Paperwhite to my good old Kindle 3 - and ran into this issue.
I embedded full font family (four files) into epub using Calibre plugin from our forum. I just tweaked this plugin a bit so that element body{font-family: Font_Family_Name;} was written into epub's css (without this tweak K3 did not display embedded font).
Bottom line: Converted file allowed switch between Helvetica and embedded CharisSIL on K3.

Well, copied azw3 to PW: Surprise, switch to Publisher font did nothing!
Why?
I tried to use Kindlegen 2.8 for epub->mobi conversion, same effect: Publisher font works on K3, pulisher font fails on PW.

I uploaded example here. This is a free epub book by G K Chesterton downloaded from mobileread. In this example epub with trailing undescores contains embedded font, mobi was obtained by Kindlegen 2.8, azw3 is Calibre output.
Maybe someone can give me a hint why I cannot switch to publisher font on PW?

It appears that Calibre messed up your valid epub. I have no idea why the K3 appears to be displaying the embedded fonts and the Paperwhite doesn't, but with the K3 font embedding can be hit and miss anyway.
Since earlier versions of the Calibre font embedding code were buggy, downloading the latest Calibre version and re-embedding the fonts might do the trick.
Also, if you're getting strange results after Calibre epub conversions, try checking the epub generated by Calibre with epubcheck online to make sure that's still valid.
Since epubcheck error messages tend to be a bit cryptic, you could also download Sigil, open your file with it and click the big green checkmark button to run the integrated FlightCrew epub checker. (Your Calibre-converted epub failed both tests.)

BTW, if you encounter further problems with Kindle books, you may want to post your questions in the Mobi forum.

It could also be that the plugin may not work quite right given that the plugin was written sometime in 2010 and Calibre has moved on considerably since them.

Alas, ns0: didn't help.

I'm using the latest version of Calbre.
Note that kindlegen 2.8 also produces mobi with the same problem.
JSWolf
Well, but KK displays embedded font with this obsolete plugin...

But you're also apparently using an outdated, unsupported plugin instead of the integrated Calibre font embedding option, which generated an invalid epub.

Get rid of the plug-in and try the integrated embedding option instead.
(Convert books... > Look & feel > Embed font family)

You're absolutely right.
Embed font family option works perfectly well on PW.
Thanks a lot for your kind support.
