ok, torno in tema: ho trovato una biblioteca con prestito di ebook: purtroppo si deve essere fisicamente in Italia per registarsi (Toscana, Emilia Romagna, Umbria e Lombardia), pero' possono registrarsi anche i non residenti dietro pagamento di €25. Quindi, per chi e' fuori, da tenere a mente per le prossime vacanze italiane.

Un'altro negozio di ebooks e' Webster.it

Ho appena finito di leggere The Children's Book di Byatt, e ho cominciato a leggere A Passage to India di Forster. Prima avevo letto Il Maestro e la Margherita di Bulgakov.

Perchè ne parlo qui? Li ho letti come e-books, in inglese. Però ho anche preso in mano i libri a stampa, in italiano, dalla biblioteca. Quando vado di fretta ci riesco meglio con il libro stampato.

Bene. Sia con Byatt che con Bulgakov ha funzionato benissimo: il colore del racconto, o la musica se preferite quest'altra metafora, non cambiano assolutamente con la traduzione. Non così con Forster. Il racconto tradotto mi è sembrato sfumato, sfuocato, impreciso, mentre nell'originale è incisivo, con sfumature delicate e sottili, che nella traduzione, pur ineccepibile, scompaiono. Pazienza. E' un romanzo bellissimo, affascinante. Mia moglie sostiene che è un romanzo da vecchie zitelle, ma io penso che sia piuttosto scritto con grande sensibilità. Con un' attenzione ai rapporti tra le persone affascinante. Mia moglie è un ingegniere, forse è per questo. Ma lo sono anch'io. Starò diventando una vecchia zitella?

I went to a reading by Ms Byatt last night. She read from the "Childrens Book" and talked about it and the creative process of writing. It was very interesting! I will definitly read it now
