My solution is to use the tools that work to make it easier. That means using the plugin.

Thanks for the explanation of how to customise the PI - that is what I was after but given that when I looked at the Toolbag under Configure Calibre Plug-ins it showed that the PI wasn't customisable I didn't dig any further.
