If you just install a Chinese TTF font in /usr/share/fonts/ttf/ it should show Chinese filenames pretty well.

Does anyone know about great looking on E-Ink unicode fonts then?
I'm currently using Cambria+Calibri (from Vista/Office 2007), but i doubt these are optimized for 160dpi grayscale. Cambria+Calibri looks great on 11pt or larger font size, but it becames worse on 10pt. Maybe there are some better fonts for use on E-Ink?

Now that we can install fonts, is there a way to override the fonts in documents on a per document or global basis? I've heard good things about the font used on the Nook.

By request here is an update of the various locale files. rename the attached file 'languagefiles.tgz' and replace the old .tgz file with this one (make sure the name is the same as the old one) and run the script again. I also included the .desktop file for the Languages entry in Settings, so that might work.
Attached Files
File Type: gz languagefiles.tar.gz (1.84 MB, 193 views)

for Mr. X
another wonderful work...!!
thanks after reboot is automatic in Italian language, there are only few words not translated in the Note menu and the page of advance setting in setting menu, but is not important, the greatest part of the interface is translated, many many thanks, for your work also from many visitors of our Italian "Simplicissimus book farm forum"

how can I install more fonts there? Is there a simpler way than that program from the Chinese website? I don't want to use that for every single font. I cannot access this area from Windows 7 via USB.

If you want, you can make /usr/share/userStyle.css a symlink to /media/mmcblk0p1/System/userStyle.css and have easier access to it for editing.

You can probably also create a symlink /usr/share/fonts -> /media/mmcblk0p1/System/fonts and put all sorts of TTF and OTF fonts in there... (untested)
I would assume someone needs to create a script to copy /usr/share/fonts to /media/mmcblk0p1/System/fonts, rename /usr/share/fonts , and create a symlink /usr/share/fonts -> /media/mmcblk0p1/System/fonts.

I add a Chinese language and it work fine in the QEMU Device Emulator,but not my DR800SG, Some menu item can't display pretty well.
I copy /usr/lib/locale/zh_CN from Ubuntu,and translate /usr/share/locale/zh_CN from ../en_US,
My DR800SG upgrade to 2.0 bate.
