Sony eReader PRS505 upgrades announced !

Here are the two upgrades I just downloaded from Sony:

Updates eBook Library or the CONNECT™ Reader software to eBook Library version 2.2.00.18100 software, and provides the following benefits:

Support for EPUB file format
Support for Adobe Digital Editions 1.5 or later and Adobe DRM-protected content
Note: Requires installation of, and authorization with, Adobe Digital Editions 1.5 or later.
Enables text within PDF eBooks to be "reflowed". This will enlarge the text and improve the readability of text-based PDFs
Improvements to sync functionality
Enable to select a "file folder" and set it as a "Favorite" to sync
Enable to sync to external Memory Card
General fixes to improve stability and performance

The second was for the Reader, itself, version 1.1.00.18040

It dramatically improved the response time of the Reader plus allowing the other changes shown above. Now one can delete a book directly on the Reader. One used to have to delete on the PC and then sync the Reader.

One never had to sync the reader. In fact, auto-sync turned out to be rather a mess to turn off.
