Android version?

Some android devices have USB host mode so it is possible to port calibre to Android.

Anyone interested in something like that?

As much as I would like to see it, it's already been said elsewhere that a rewritten Calibre for Android is NOT in any books.

What's a USB host mode?

USB devices can connect to Android devices with USB host mode.

This means that if calibre gets ported to Android, the user would be able to connect a kindle fire to a Motorola Xoom and be able to handle their book library without the need of turning on the computer.

Please, pardon my Ignorance; I am not a programmer. In a recent meeting at work, someone working in porting an internal app from python to android, mentioned that there is something called python-for-android ( http://python-for-android.readthedoc...est/index.html ).
Could this be used in producing an Android calibre version?

Just curious …
