As this is the epub subforum I feel the need to mention that Kobo devices do not actually require you to embed a true smallcaps font in order to use it. As long as the smallcaps font has been sideloaded to the device's font directory you can access it via CSS. The method is slightly different for epub and kepub but it can be done for either if you want to make the effort for personal use.
