Python 3.11.7 build for PocketBook
I've made a build of Python 3.11.7 to use on my Era. Thought some of you would be interested, so posting it here.
Contains setup-tools, pip and requests modules. Compiled with openssl and sqlite3 support. Extract to system folder, the python executable will then be available at /mnt/ext1/system/python_pocketbook/python3.11/bin/python3 For now I'm using it to download books from my Calibre-web server. Shouldn't need root. Only tested on Era with firmware 6.8.2568. |

Great!
But why do you post an archive? Why not post a link to Github, Gitlab, Sourcehut, or whatever Git remote repository, so people will be able to understand and contribute to your work? And we'll be able to repeat that work once a new version of Python is out there .. There's already so many roten executable here, who will blindly install such things on a personal device ? Accumulation of executable archives is a real problem, please developers think twice on how you decide to share your work! Share sources, recipes, not opaque executables!
