Good Omens Started Today

Now available on Amazon Prime. I watched the first few minutes before I went to work and it is looking good. I will be watching tonight.

I binge-watched it all just now. Rather liked it. Crowley and his opposite number were fun. Tbh, I remember almost nothing about the book, so can't really compare the two.

Watched the first two episodes last night and really enjoyed it so far. I'm glad they decided to do it as a miniseries (or a 6-hour movie, as Neil Gaiman has called it). From what I remember from the book, it's been a fairly faithful adaptation. Sheen and Tennant are spot on as Aziraphale and Crowley. I especially liked Michael McKean as Witchfinder Sergeant Shadwell and didn't mind his somewhat fluctuating accent because, after all, it's canon:

Quote:
Mr. Shadwell’s accent was unplaceable. It careered around Britain like a milk race. Here a mad Welsh drill sergeant, there a High Kirk elder who’d just seen someone doing something on a Sunday, somewhere between them a dour Daleland shepherd, or bitter Somerset miser. It didn’t matter where the accent went; it didn’t get any nicer.

I liked it. I clearly didn't remember any specifics from the book. Tennant's a favorite of mine, so it was good to see him back in a more humorous role. Nice touch toward the end with the guard at the airbase reading a Neil Gaiman book. I think Amazon's on to something with these 6 episode novel-based mini-series. Catch-22 was excellent as well.

I've only watched the first show so far, been busy and just catching up with the series. I loved it ! I'm now a fan of Neil Gaimen. I'll read the Good Omens book this month and add it to my Sci fi challenge. This is the kind of show I just love, all the quirkiness the settings the characters. I wish they would have more shows like this.
