PRS-300 Russian on PRS-300 + PDF resizing issues

I've converted an fb2 book in Russian to the epub format and transferred it to my reader. However all letters appear as empty little squares...Is it because of general lack of support for Russian in this model, or conversion issue, or something else?

I've transferred several PDF books to the reader. Turns out that in some of them the "resize" button actually changes the font size and in some others it doesn't. How can this be changes?

akapulko-

The little squares occur when the font in the reader does not contain the specific character.

You may need to embed the Russian font on the .epub. Check the following threads to see if they help:

There is also a way to transfer the font to the reader (which will make the .epub file smaller), but the thread currently eludes me.

On your other issue, some PDF's are actually images (as opposed to reflowable text). The text size of these will not change.

One easy way to check is to try to select parts of the text to copy/paste or to do a search on the PDF. If you can't search/copy, it is most likely an image. (Note that unfortunately those features can be locked out of a PDF by its creator.)

Also image PDFs are a lot bigger in size (megabite-wise).
