I understand. I don't use Chrome. Firefox is pretty solid. I mainly use it for Google Play Books and non Google apps.

I just tried an experiment with Play Store on my Nexus 7 (2013). I selected an app that as a pending update, tapped the three .s in the upper right and deselected auto-update. When I then did the update all I was given the option to skip the update to that one app.

Why not try that on the Fire HD 10.
