Is this the next Mac tablet, or just a Generic Icon that represent all Ipods?

In addition to unveiling the App Store, a section of the iTunes Store devoted to selling software for iPhones and iPod touches, Apple announced yesterday that it would enable selected developers to create their own private pages on the App Store to distribute content to a limited audience, rather than the entirety of the Apple customer base. Example: EF Tours has a page that can only be accessed by people who are going on a tour with that company.

If you look at that page, you'll see something in the yellow title bar. I think it's the new tablet.

Why do you do this to me, man? Why?! Okay, to keep myself from agonizing over the possibilities I've decided that it's just an image of a......new Apple refrigerator magnet which you, too, can get for only $20.00 once you've bought 500 iTunes. And it has a picture of Jobs - on the back. So there!

Okay. Let's play along a little further. If it's a new slate or tablet, what are its approximate dimensions judging by the size of the circle thingy at the bottom and the thickness of the edge along the perimeter? Anyone wanna guess? (Not that I'm saying it's anything but a refrigerator magnet. )

@vivaldi:

Jame Kendrick over at JKOnTheRun, is currently reviewing a new gadget. He had to agree to a nondisclosure agreement.I think he's looking at Apple's new tablet. What do you think?

P.S. If you haven't hyperventilated yourself into unconsciousness yet, I will try again tomorrow.

Haha, lovely idea, I wish it were true! Unfortunately I really don't think it is. I'm pretty sure I've seen that 'tablet' elsewhere as an artist's impression. And how likely is it that a company specialising in educational tours would have prior knowledge of a device like this, given Apple's obsessive secrecy about new products? And then leak it in a graphic on the iTunes store?

I'm not buying. But I would really like to be wrong.

I have learned from a trusted source that the $20.00 Apple refrigerator will only stick on Frigidaire brand refrigerators. If you have another type of refrigerator you will have to purchase the $40.00 version. But with the $40.00 version you get a holographic image of Steve Jobs on the back. The iFrigmags should be on the Apple web site shortly.

Another tease! I can't bear it. Actually, Nate, I have it on good authority that JK is evaluating the new Etch-a-Sketch lookalike from Crayola. Yes, it's an eink device but the battery can't be replaced, their's only one USB port, and you can only save your sketches in a proprietary iCrayola format. Sorry, not interested. And I'm with Madam B and Ottocrat. Apple can keep their iFigginmag!

This just in, apparently the proper name for the new fridge magnet will be the "iFrag."

Mac Newton tablet fridge magnetized dartboard?

Contextually, the fact that this icon is on that type of page would imply connectivity. We have darn good hopes of seeing something concrete in the works unless this is a prepared hoax like the last few about an aPple Apple tablet.
Is there a way to get to the original page?

Okay, so what are the dimensions of this friggin' iFrag? (I mean, just to play along a bit.) Here's the image next to an iPod Touch. I'm guessing that to match the edge thickness, it would have to be at least twice the size of the iPod. But not, say, four times as large. That would make the screen size about 6" or 8" tall or so. Just the right size for a dartboard, don't you think?

I was kidding about a dartboard because you mentionned Jobs' face being on that tablet. I'm an Apple fan and we all love to kick him around.

If you analyse physical properties of the latest Apple devices, they seem to have the same fillet size. ( Technically a fillet is the treatment of two lines joined at an angle, in this case, the corner radius'). This would approximatively make the device about 10" high?

Well, of course. Where would be the fun otherwise?

I was looking a little closer at the images trying to match the corner radius and I, too, came up with about 10" display height. Cool. I'm not interested in a miniature tablet. Oops. Did I say tablet? I meant refrigerator magnet.

Apple Eink Ereader pictured here...?

Its what I would put a small sum of money on.
Have a look at this image it is taken from itunes and the detail is in this article
Here also is a comment from this article that I just noticed

"Looks like a docked eBook device. Remember folks, years ago, just before the iPhone rumors were abound, there was a fairly reliable report that Apple had begun to purchase the rights to a considerable number of books. With multi-touch, a more book shaped iPhone with a larger (7”?) screen and Amazon Kindle like content distribution system, they would have a killer device. Form factor and content is everything folks."
