Exclamation Win 95 in dosbox (no really)

Okay, I was just being silly.

But...

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...BT15FTx0/edit#

and an awful lot of messing around...

screenies or it never happened...

(And the most gratifying thing was the windows start-up noise FWIW)

The graphics are BADLY messed up though so... not taking this any further but...

Win95 on a kindle. Native.

Done.

Crazy.

EDIT: Tried, a bit, to convince it to run "Sideways on" but no dice. probably could with a bit more effort and get a 800x600 or 1024x768 res out of it, but with the shocking artifacts I think I'll stick a fork in it and call it done.

I admit it, maybe the Road Trippin, '78 this summer has had an effect on our thought processes.

This forum will be returned to normal once the smoke clears.

I have a version of this http://basilisk.cebix.net/ on a cd somewhere complete with a rom and OS 7.5.? and some programs. My emulator is the Windows version, and ran pretty well. If you REALLY want it, I could try to dig it up...

Ah, MTS (Michigan Terminal System) on your K5/370 ?

For those who need to run 600 dial-up (well, telnet) terminal sessions on their Kindle Touch.

https://bitbucket.org/knc1/kindle-s3...d-s390-mts/src

- - - - - -

The University of California at San Diago (UCSD) has published the source code to UCSD-Pascal for non-commercial use.

That is a p-code implementation of Pascal that was relatively fast for its time (I8080/Z80 machines), it should fly on the Kindle's 800Mhz processor - - - **IF** I can port it.
